A snow removal estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. The template below is the generic contractor estimate pre-filled with a snow removal job so you can see what good looks like, plus the exclusions snow removal operators most often forget. Exclusions to put on every snow removal estimate
- Service at 2 inches of snowfall or more, after snowfall ends; storms over 8 inches may need a second push, billed as a second visit.
- Customer marks driveway edges, curbs and landscaping; unmarked items under the snow are not the contractor's responsibility.
- Snow piles placed at the edges of the driveway; hauling away not included.
- Invoiced after each storm; payment due within 7 days.

What matters in snow removal estimates
- Write the trigger depth. "2 inches or more" decides whether a visit is billable. Put it on the estimate.
- Say what a visit is. One push after snowfall ends. Big storms may need two; say how they're billed.
- Ask for markers. Edges, curbs and beds marked before the first storm. Say you're not liable for unmarked items.
- Invoice storm by storm. Send the invoice from the truck before the next driveway.
