A drywall repair estimate and invoice app

Count the holes, check the texture, and send the price before you leave.

Published November 4, 2026 · by Settle

Quick answer

Settle fits drywall repair because most jobs are priced on the walkthrough. Say the patches, texture and paint out loud and Settle writes a priced estimate from your own rates. Text the estimate from your own phone, the customer approves from a link, and when the job's done they pay by card or bank to your own Stripe account. Sending unlimited estimates and invoices is free. It's iPhone only and doesn't do scheduling.

What a drywall repair estimate looks like

Walking the house you say: "Three medium holes up to eight inches, a four by four water stain on the ceiling, match the knockdown texture, and prime and paint the patches." Settle writes:

LineQtyPriceTotal
Patch hole up to 8 in, tape and mud3 ea$85.00$255.00
Ceiling water stain repair, 4 x 4 ft1 ea$225.00$225.00
Texture match, knockdown3 areas$40.00$120.00
Prime and paint patched areas4 areas$35.00$140.00
Total before tax$740.00

Example prices only. Settle uses your own rates, and marks any price it had to guess with an orange dot.

What matters in drywall repair estimates

  • Price per patch by size. "Up to 8 inches" and "8 to 24 inches" are easy for a customer to check and easy for you to reuse.
  • Texture and paint on their own lines. Matching knockdown or orange peel is separate work. So is paint. Separate lines show why the price is what it is.
  • Say the paint caveat. "New paint may not match faded paint exactly; we can paint the full wall for $X." That sentence saves the callback.
  • Water damage needs a cause. Note that the leak must be fixed before you patch, and that you're not repairing it unless it's listed.
  • Drying time between coats. If the job needs two visits for mud to dry, say so on the estimate.

What Settle does for drywall pros, and what it doesn't

Say the patches, the texture and the paint, and check any price marked with an orange dot. The estimate goes out from your own number while you're still in the room, and the customer can approve it from the link before you mix mud. You see when the customer opens and approves it. Payments land in a Stripe account in your name; Settle takes no cut and never holds the money.

Settle doesn't schedule jobs, order materials, or track a crew. There's no Android or web version. If you run several crews, a field-service tool like Jobber is built for that; compare them on the comparison page.

Drywall repair questions

What is the best estimate app for a solo drywall pro?

For a solo operator on an iPhone who prices on the walkthrough, Settle is free to send unlimited estimates and invoices, writes the estimate from what you say using your own rates, and pays to your own Stripe account. If you run crews on big hang-and-finish jobs, a field-service or construction tool is built for that.

Can I price by the patch and by the square foot?

Yes. Each line has its own quantity and unit, so patches, square feet and rooms can sit on the same estimate.

Can Settle draft an estimate from photos?

Yes. Take up to 3 photos and Settle uses them, along with what you say, to draft the estimate. The photos stay with the job in the app; they aren't added to the PDF or the estimate page your customer sees.

Quote your next patch job by talking.

Free on iPhone. Unlimited estimates and invoices. 7 days of Pro to try the voice drafts, and you cancel in two taps.
