A window cleaning estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. The template below is the generic contractor estimate pre-filled with a window cleaning job so you can see what good looks like, plus the exclusions window cleaners most often forget. Exclusions to put on every window cleaning estimate
- Hard-water stains, paint overspray and scratched glass may not come clean.
- Customer opens blinds, moves furniture back from interior windows and unlocks gates before the start time.
- Skylights, solar panels and windows above the second story quoted separately.
- Broken screens or seals are noted, not repaired.
Terms that fit window cleaning work
Valid for 30 days. Rain may move the date; we confirm the day before. Payment due on completion by card, bank transfer or check.
What matters in window cleaning estimates
- Count the panes on the estimate. "28 panes at $6" is a price the customer can check, and it makes the next visit a two-minute quote.
- Separate inside and outside. Many customers only want the outside. Separate lines let them choose without a new estimate.
- Price upper floors on their own line. Ladder work costs more. Putting it on its own line explains the difference before anyone asks.
- Write the hard-water disclaimer. Mineral stains are the most common complaint after a clean. One line on the estimate ends that conversation.
