About Settle

Who makes Settle, how it earns money, and what it won't do.

In short

Settle is an iPhone app for solo contractors. You describe a job out loud, Settle writes a priced estimate using your own prices, you text it from your own phone, and your customer approves or pays from a link. Payments go straight to your own Stripe account, and Settle never holds your money. Settle was founded by Nina Krecicki in Las Vegas, Nevada. It earns money from the Pro subscription, not from your payments.

Who makes Settle

Nina Krecicki is the founder of Settle. Nina has spent a career in digital marketing in Las Vegas, and started Settle after watching good contractors finish a job and then chase the check for weeks. Nina answers the phone personally: text (818) 945-9686, email [email protected], or find Nina on LinkedIn.

What Settle is

Settle is an estimate and invoice app for one-person trades. You describe the job out loud, Settle writes the estimate using your own prices, and you text it from your own phone. Your customer approves an estimate or pays an invoice from a link. The payment goes to your own Stripe account. Settle is an iPhone app (iOS 17 or later), and there is no Android or web version.

How Settle makes money

Settle Pro costs $19.99 a month or $149.99 a year. That subscription is the business. Settle does not take a percentage of your payments, does not sell your data, and does not show ads. Card payments cost Stripe's standard rate, paid to Stripe. See pricing.

Six things Settle will never do

  • Touch your money. It goes from your customer to your own Stripe account.
  • Limit how many estimates or invoices you send.
  • Raise your price after you've signed up.
  • Make you call anyone to cancel.
  • Lock up your records when you stop paying.
  • Make you type in your prices before your first estimate.

Why it exists

Experienced contractors already know what a job costs. What slows them down is the paperwork: a long setup before the first estimate, document caps, a subscription that is hard to cancel, and waiting on money. Settle is built around the opposite: no setup, no caps, a two-tap cancel, and payments that go to the contractor's own account. We compare it honestly with other apps, including when they are the better pick, on the comparison page.

How we write these pages

The guides, comparisons and templates on settlejob.com are drafted with AI help and then checked by the Settle team before they go up. Competitor prices, fees and limits come only from each company's own pricing and help pages, with the date we checked them and a link in the sources. State rules come from the statute or the licensing board, linked on the page. Anything we say about what Settle does is checked against the app itself. If you spot something wrong or out of date, text or email Nina and we'll fix it.
