Why contractors look for a Bookipi alternative

The free plan stops at 3 documents a month

Bookipi's pricing page caps the free plan at 3 invoices a month, and estimates and quotes count toward it. A contractor who sends a few estimates a week runs out in days. Settle's free plan has no cap on estimates or invoices.

Card rates depend on the processor you pick

Bookipi's fee page lists 2.9% + 30¢ for US Visa and Mastercard through BookiPay, 4.25% + 30¢ for Amex and international cards, and 3.4% + 30¢ through Stripe. Settle uses Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ and adds nothing.

You type every line

Bookipi builds documents from templates you fill in, with AI for proposals and contracts. Settle drafts the estimate itself from what you say on site, using your own past prices.

When Bookipi is the better choice

  • You want to work from a computer as well as your phone. Bookipi has a web app; Settle is iPhone only.
  • You want eSignatures, an appointment scheduler or recurring invoices today.
  • You send fewer than three documents a month and want it free.

When Settle is not the right app

We would rather you know before you download:

  • iPhone only. There is no Android app and no web app.
  • No scheduling, dispatching, GPS or time tracking.
  • No QuickBooks sync. You can export everything to CSV.
  • One user per account. No crew or team logins.
  • Documents live on your phone. There is no sync between devices yet.
  • English only for now.
  • A new app from a small team. Most of the apps it competes with have been around for years.

How to switch from Bookipi

Subscriptions bought in the iPhone app are cancelled through Apple; web subscriptions from your Bookipi account. We didn't find a data-export statement on the pricing page, so save PDFs of the documents you need before you cancel.

There is nothing to import into Settle. Open the app, tap the orange button, and describe your next job. Your own prices are remembered from what you send, so your old price list doesn't need to come along.
