A carpet cleaning estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. The template below is the generic contractor estimate pre-filled with a carpet cleaning job so you can see what good looks like, plus the exclusions carpet cleaners most often forget. Exclusions to put on every carpet cleaning estimate
- A room is up to 200 sq ft; larger rooms count as two.
- Some stains, including bleach spots, dyes and old pet urine, may not come out fully.
- Customer picks up small items and breakables; furniture moving is quoted separately.
- Stay off cleaned carpet for 6 to 8 hours while it dries.

Valid for 30 days. Payment due on completion by card, bank transfer or check.
What matters in carpet cleaning estimates
- Define a room. Put your room size rule on the estimate. A big living room counted as two is fair only if the customer saw it first.
- Treatments on separate lines. Pet odor, spotting and protector are choices. Separate lines let the customer pick.
- Write the stain disclaimer. Bleach spots and old urine are the most common complaint. One line on the estimate ends that conversation.
- Say how long to dry. Not a price line, but customers remember who told them to stay off the carpet.
