For flooring installers
A flooring estimate and invoice app
Measure, say the square footage, and send the number before the customer starts calling around.
Settle fits flooring because the price comes from measurements you take on site. Say the square footage, removal, underlayment and trim out loud and Settle writes a priced estimate from your own rates. Text the estimate from your own phone, the customer approves from a link, and when the job's done they pay by card or bank to your own Stripe account. Sending unlimited estimates and invoices is free. It's iPhone only and doesn't do scheduling.
What a flooring estimate looks like
After measuring you say: "Pull up 420 square feet of carpet and pad and haul it, install customer-supplied click-lock LVP with underlayment, three transitions, and 160 feet of quarter round." Settle writes:
| Line | Qty | Price | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remove carpet and pad, haul away | 420 sq ft | $0.75 | $315.00 |
| Install click-lock LVP (customer-supplied) | 420 sq ft | $2.50 | $1,050.00 |
| Underlayment | 420 sq ft | $0.45 | $189.00 |
| Transition strips | 3 ea | $35.00 | $105.00 |
| Quarter round, install | 160 ft | $1.75 | $280.00 |
| Total before tax | $1,939.00 |
Example prices only. Settle uses your own rates, and marks any price it had to guess with an orange dot.

What matters in flooring estimates
- Say who buys the flooring. Customer-supplied or contractor-supplied changes the price and the warranty. Put it on the line.
- Separate removal, install and trim. Customers compare install prices per square foot. Removal and trim on their own lines keep that number honest.
- Subfloor is the surprise. Write what happens if the subfloor needs leveling or repair once the old floor is up: you stop, show them, and price it.
- Furniture and appliances. Say who moves them, and price it if it's you.
- Deposits on material jobs. If you buy the flooring, a deposit covers it. Check your state's cap first.
What Settle does for flooring installers, and what it doesn't
Measure the rooms, say the square footage, the tear-out and the transitions, and check any price marked with an orange dot. The estimate goes out from your own number before you leave the house. You see when the customer opens and approves it. Payments land in a Stripe account in your name; Settle takes no cut and never holds the money.
Settle doesn't schedule jobs, order materials, or track a crew. There's no Android or web version. If you run several crews, a field-service tool like Jobber is built for that; compare them on the comparison page.
Flooring questions
What is the best estimate app for a solo flooring installer?
For a one-person installer on an iPhone who measures and prices on site, Settle is free to send unlimited estimates and invoices, writes the estimate from what you say using your own rates, and pays to your own Stripe account. If you need takeoff from plans or crew scheduling, a construction estimating tool is built for that.
Can I add a deposit for materials?
Yes. You can add a deposit percentage to any estimate. Settle doesn't check your state's limit, so see how much deposit to ask for first.
What if the subfloor needs work?
Write the extra up as its own estimate or a change order and get the customer's yes before you do it.
