Quick answer

A concrete estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. The template below is the generic contractor estimate pre-filled with a concrete job so you can see what good looks like, plus the exclusions concrete contractors most often forget. It's free, printable, and there's no sign-up.

Exclusions to put on every concrete estimate

  • Utilities located through 811 before digging.
  • Unsuitable soil or buried debris found during excavation priced before continuing.
  • Concrete may develop hairline cracks; control joints reduce but don't prevent them.
  • Customer keeps vehicles off the new slab for the cure time given at the pour.

Terms that fit concrete work

Valid for 14 days because material prices change. Deposit due on approval if listed; balance due on completion by card, bank transfer or check.

What matters in concrete estimates

  • Square feet and thickness. "240 sq ft, 4 inch" lets the customer compare bids line for line.
  • Tear-out is its own line. Removing old concrete is real work and real disposal cost.
  • Put the cracking clause in writing. Customers expect perfect concrete. Say what's normal.
  • Short validity. Concrete prices move. A 14-day window protects you.
