Why contractors look for a Jobber alternative

You're paying for a calendar you don't use

Jobber's Core plan starts at $49 a month month-to-month ($39 with a one-year commitment, or $29 a month billed annually) and extra users are $29 a month each. Most of that price is scheduling, dispatch and client tools. If you only send estimates and invoices, Settle is $0.

New accounts wait on payouts, and holds can happen at any time

Jobber's help center says every account has a standard 5-business-day payout delay after the first payment, and that reviews and holds "may occur at any time" under its own Risk Team. With Settle, payments go to a Stripe account in your own name and Settle isn't in the money path. Stripe still runs its own identity and risk checks, and new Stripe accounts wait several days for a first payout.

Your data after you cancel

Jobber's help center says your account data, such as clients, jobs and invoices, stops being available after a cancelled plan ends, so export first. Settle's export button works on the free plan and never goes away.

When Jobber is the better choice

  • You have a crew. Jobber has team schedules, dispatch, GPS and user permissions. Settle has one user.
  • You want recurring jobs, automatic reminders and a client portal.
  • You need QuickBooks Online sync. Jobber lists it on its Connect plan and above.
  • You want Android or web. Settle is iPhone only.

When Settle is not the right app

We would rather you know before you download:

  • iPhone only. There is no Android app and no web app.
  • No scheduling, dispatching, GPS or time tracking.
  • No QuickBooks sync. You can export everything to CSV.
  • One user per account. No crew or team logins.
  • Documents live on your phone. There is no sync between devices yet.
  • English only for now.
  • A new app from a small team. Most of the apps it competes with have been around for years.

How to switch from Jobber

Jobber's help center says only admins can cancel or export the full client list, and that reports and PDFs should be exported before your plan ends.

There is nothing to import into Settle. Open the app, tap the orange button, and describe your next job. Your own prices are remembered from what you send, so your old price list doesn't need to come along.

Questions

Is Settle a good alternative to Jobber?

Settle is a good alternative to Jobber if you work alone, use an iPhone, and want no cap on how many estimates and invoices you send. It is not a replacement if you need scheduling, dispatch, a crew login, QuickBooks sync, or an Android or web app.

How much does Jobber cost compared to Settle?

Jobber: Core, $49 a month month-to-month, $39 a month with a one-year commitment, or $29 a month billed annually. Cheapest plan: Core, one user. No document limit listed on the pricing page. Settle's free plan sends unlimited estimates and invoices; Settle Pro is $19.99 a month or $149.99 a year and adds unlimited AI-written drafts. Prices checked October 27, 2026.

Can I export my data from Jobber before I switch?

Jobber's help center says only admins can cancel or export the full client list, and that reports and PDFs should be exported before your plan ends.

Does Settle hold my money?

No. Customers pay through a link, and the payment goes to a Stripe account in your own name. Settle takes no cut and is never in the money path. Stripe sets payout timing and still runs its own identity and risk checks, as it does for any business.
