Quick answer

A pool service estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. The template below is the generic contractor estimate pre-filled with a pool service job so you can see what good looks like, plus the exclusions pool techs most often forget. It's free, printable, and there's no sign-up.

Exclusions to put on every pool service estimate

  • Does not include the wet end, impeller or plumbing unless listed above.
  • Electrical supply to the equipment pad must be in working order; electrical repairs quoted separately.
  • Chemicals and water balancing not included unless on the route service plan.
  • Filter cartridge replacement quoted separately if the cartridge is worn.

Terms that fit pool service work

Valid for 14 days. Parts carry the manufacturer warranty; 90 days on labor. Balance due on completion by card, bank transfer or check.

What matters in pool service estimates

  • Separate motor from wet end. Customers hear "pump" and expect the whole thing. Name the part and exclude the rest.
  • Horsepower and model on the line. 1.5 HP, 230V, the model number. It's the price, and it's what you'll order.
  • Keep route service out of repair estimates. Weekly chemicals are a plan; a motor swap is a repair. Mixing them muddies both prices.
  • Warranty terms in one line. Manufacturer on parts, 90 days on labor. Say it so nobody expects five years.
