A drywall repair estimate needs your business details and license number, the customer and job address, one line per task and material with quantity and price, the total, any deposit, what is excluded, and a place to approve. Exclusions to put on every drywall repair estimate
- The source of any water damage must be repaired before patching; leak repair is not included.
- New paint may not match faded existing paint exactly; painting the full wall is quoted separately.
- Customer moves furniture and wall hangings away from work areas.
- Mud needs to dry between coats; the job may take two visits.

Valid for 30 days. Payment due on completion by card, bank transfer or check.
What matters in drywall repair estimates
- Price patches by size. "Up to 8 inches" is easy for the customer to check and easy for you to reuse on the next job.
- Texture and paint on their own lines. Matching texture and painting are separate work. Separate lines explain the total.
- Write the paint-match caveat. Fresh paint on old paint rarely matches. Say so, and offer the full wall as an option.
- Fix the leak first. For water damage, note that the cause must be repaired before you patch.
