For appliance techs
A appliance repair estimate and invoice app
Diagnose, price the part, and get a yes before you order it.
Settle fits appliance repair because the price comes right after the diagnosis. Say the diagnostic, part and labor out loud and Settle writes a priced estimate from your own rates. Text the estimate from your own phone, the customer approves from a link, and when the job's done they pay by card or bank to your own Stripe account. Sending unlimited estimates and invoices is free. It's iPhone only and doesn't do scheduling or dispatch.
What a appliance repair estimate looks like
After diagnosing a dishwasher you say: "Diagnostic fee, replace the drain pump, about an hour of labor." Settle writes:
| Line | Qty | Price | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic fee | 1 | $95.00 | $95.00 |
| Drain pump (part) | 1 ea | $120.00 | $120.00 |
| Labor | 1 hr | $110.00 | $110.00 |
| Total before tax | $325.00 |
Example prices only. Settle uses your own rates, and marks any price it had to guess with an orange dot.

What matters in appliance repair estimates
- Say what happens to the diagnostic fee. Many techs credit it toward the repair. If you do, show it as a credit line; if not, say so.
- Model number on the part line. It's what you'll order, and it shows the customer you know their machine.
- Repair or replace. If the repair is more than half the price of a new unit, say so on the estimate. Customers remember the tech who told them.
- Part lead time. If the part ships in three days, the estimate should say the return visit date depends on it.
- Short validity. Part prices change. Keep repair estimates valid for 7 to 14 days.
What Settle does for appliance techs, and what it doesn't
It's built for pricing the job in front of you. Describe the work, fix any price with an orange dot, and tap Send: Messages opens with the text written, the estimate link and the PDF attached, from your own number. You see when the customer opens it and when they tap Approve. After the job, one tap turns the estimate into an invoice with a pay link. The money lands in a Stripe account in your name; Settle takes no cut and never holds it.
Settle doesn't book calls, dispatch techs, or track parts inventory. There's no Android or web version. If you run several trucks, a field-service tool like Jobber or Housecall Pro is built for that; compare them on the comparison page.
Appliance repair questions
What is the best estimate app for a solo appliance repair tech?
For a one-person tech on an iPhone, Settle is free to send unlimited estimates and invoices, writes the estimate from what you say using your own rates, and pays to your own Stripe account. If you need parts inventory, dispatch or warranty claim processing, a field-service tool is built for that.
Can I take a deposit for the part?
Yes. Add a deposit percentage so it shows on the estimate the customer approves, then send an invoice for the deposit with a pay link before you order the part.
Can Settle draft an estimate from photos?
Yes. Take up to 3 photos and Settle uses them, along with what you say, to draft the estimate. The photos stay with the job in the app; they aren't added to the PDF or the estimate page your customer sees.
Quote your next repair by talking.
Free on iPhone. Unlimited estimates and invoices. 7 days of Pro to try the voice drafts, and you cancel in two taps.
