A repair estimate and invoice app for pool pros

Pump motors, filters and one-off jobs, quoted from the equipment pad.

Published October 27, 2026 · Updated November 4, 2026 · by Settle

Quick answer

Settle works well for pool repairs and one-off jobs: describe the work out loud, get a priced estimate, text it, and get paid to your own Stripe account. Sending unlimited estimates and invoices is free. It doesn't do recurring route billing yet, so weekly service plans still need your current method. It's iPhone only.

What a pool repair estimate looks like

Standing at the equipment pad you say: "Pump motor is shot. Replace it with a 1.5 horsepower, new shaft seal and gasket kit, and clean the cartridge filter while I'm here." Settle writes:

LineQtyPriceTotal
Labor: replace pump motor1.5 hr$95.00$142.50
Pump motor, 1.5 HP replacement1$385.00$385.00
Shaft seal and gasket kit1$24.00$24.00
Clean cartridge filter1$45.00$45.00
Total before tax$596.50

Example prices only. Settle uses your own prices, and marks any it had to guess with an orange dot.

What matters in pool estimates

  • Name the equipment. Pump motor horsepower, filter size, heater model. It stops "I thought it would be cheaper" and helps you reorder the right part.
  • Parts and labor on separate lines. Parts prices change, labor doesn't. Customers understand a pump motor line.
  • Chemicals and fills as their own lines. An acid wash or a green-to-clean job has costs the customer should see.
  • Say what a repair doesn't fix. "A new motor won't fix a cracked housing." Write the exclusion down before you start.
  • Check local rules for electrical work. Pool wiring and bonding are regulated in many places, and who may do the work varies.

What Settle does for pool pros, and what it doesn't

It's built for the job-by-job side of your business: equipment swaps, leak repair, one-time cleanups and acid washes. You describe the work, send the estimate, and the customer approves and pays from a link. Settle doesn't schedule routes or bill a weekly or monthly service plan automatically. If route billing is your main work, you'll still need a tool for that, and Settle can sit alongside it for repairs. There's no Android or web version.

Because there's no cap on documents, a busy repair week doesn't cost you more. Compare how the other apps limit documents and charge for add-ons.

Pool questions

Can Settle bill my weekly pool service customers?

Not yet. Settle doesn't do recurring or automatic billing. It's built for estimates and invoices on individual jobs, such as repairs and one-time services.

What is the best invoice app for pool repair work?

For a solo pool tech on an iPhone doing repairs and one-off jobs, Settle is free to send unlimited estimates and invoices, with payments to your own Stripe account. For route-based service with scheduling and recurring invoices, a field-service tool like Jobber is built for it.

Can Settle draft an estimate from photos?

Yes. Take up to 3 photos and Settle uses them, along with what you say, to draft the estimate. The photos stay with the job in the app; they aren't added to the PDF or the estimate page your customer sees.

Quote your next pool repair by talking.

Free on iPhone. Unlimited estimates and invoices. 7 days of Pro to try the voice drafts, and you cancel in two taps.
